Well, here goes! My very first hair tutorial.
((Bear with me on the award faces... I'm still getting used to putting myself in front of the camera. Hahaha..))

There are two things you should know:
1. My hair is going through an awkward transition from curly to almost wavy.. I'm still trying to figure it all out, which leaves me unsure of what to do with it most days.
2. In May, I realized I just needed a change. So I called my trusted hairdresser and told her to chop it all off. My locks have not been this short for 4 years, so I am trying to figure out the lob, too.
These soft waves have easily become my favorite everyday look.

To prep, I brush out all the knots with my normal hair brush.
Next, I section off my hair. The top layers begin at my temple, and the second layer begins right at my ears. Clip, clip, clip!
This makes the bottom layer MUCH easier to curl...because it is the shortest.

ENTER my Nume hair wand! I LOVE this product. It is easy on my hair...hot pink...swivel cord...and the constantly give out CRAZY AWESOME discount codes to their sponsored bloggers. Need I say more?
**Tip: Curl AWAY from your face on each side. I stop about midway back my head before switching directions.**

**TIP: I typically hold each section for 3-5 seconds**
Between each layer:
SPRAY.
SEPARATE.
SCRUNCH.

I LOVE Aussie's Hairspray. This particular hold is perfect for these waves.
It gives a little texture as well as hold, but does not leave my hair stiff or scrunched in anyway.
It offers soft and flexible waves that allow me to run my fingers through ALL day without worrying.
PLUS IT SMELLS AMAZING.

Last Step.
I'm SUPER picky about the top of my head. I believe that how your hair frames your face can make a HUGE difference in how you look. You could have an incredible undo, but if it doesn't frame your face correctly, you are left with an unfortunately unflattering hairstyle.
So this is me, making sure my part is in the perfect position.

For the top section, get as CLOSE to your scalp as possible.
This will help with volume and the laying of your waves.

Again:
SEPARATE.

I like to add a little extra volume by spraying the layers right under the part.
I also realized that I CANNOT make a pleasant face when spraying hairspray. Hahaha.
I guess I need to work on that...

Ta-Da! Everyday waves.
That was pretty easy.
Overall, for my lob, this takes about 10 minutes to complete. Hence, the "Easy Everyday Waves" title.
