This couple was unable to have a naked cake at their wedding, so I was super excited to make one for the baby shower! However, pride goes before a fall..and I was feeling pretty prideful about this beaut. My aunt made the cakes and all I needed to do was put it all together. Unfortunately, being the newbie cake girl, I didn't realize there was a paper layer on the bottom of the cakes. I learned that you need to peel the paper layer off before stacking the cake layers... We all had a great laugh about that one as I explained to 40 women my blunder. |
One of my favorite things about putting this shower together was the opportunity to work with people I love. The sheep (on the right) was one of six animals my grandpa helped me make for this baby. Below is a baby gym that my dad helped me construct and build. I am in no way a skilled handy-woman or carpenter, but I do love learning new skills...especially when that learning comes as I stand side by side with some of my dearest people. |

Mema has created a tradition of making these special quilts for her grandchildren. In her desire to do the same for her great-grandchildren, she got a head start this winter. Caleb and Audrey actually told her they were expecting by telling her they would be needed that quilt a lot sooner than expected! |
