Sometimes, God brings people into our lives that we never knew we needed. These three beautiful ladies are gifts sent from God to me. I don't say that lightly. Angelica, Harmony, and Diana have had such an incredible impact on my life in the past 8 months...words can't even express how greatly they have touched my life. In such a scary, unknown newness of going off to college, I was lost. I was quiet, insecure, secluded. No joke. But thanks to the faithfulness of my RA (Harmony) and dorm president (Diana), I realized that "Wow. These people not only care about me, but actually LIKE me!" AND they were even JUNIORS! Why on earth would juniors want to befriend a freshman?? Lightbulb. There might be something great coming.. Angelica and my friendship began in life fitness when we decided to be work-out "buddies". Nothing like getting to know someone by going to the gym every day with them! We pretty much immediately clicked. Unique stories. Unique personalities. All meshed together in an amazing group of ladies.
I don't know why God chose me to be so blessed by these three, but I do know that I will never take their friendships for granted. Even on the hardest days when we are annoying each other to no end. (Yes, it happens. That's the price you pay for being yourself all the time...BUT, nothing petty like that can break true friendships.) God has used each one of these women to grow and water me in places I did not know were dry. Through their words, actions, examples, encouragement, correction, advice, all of the above.. They have been used greatly in this past year.
I KNOW that God has worked in my life to draw me closer to Him over the past 8 years in greater ways than ever before. I have no doubt that these three ladies were a major part of this ongoing process. I also have no doubt that He will use them in great ways for the rest of my life.
I cannot wait.
